Driving scalable security through identity, zero trust, and partnerships
Rajeev Thuthikat discusses how PKI is enabling secure digital ecosystems
As organizations embrace Zero Trust architectures and expand across hybrid environments, securing every user, device, and workload becomes a challenge of scale. At the heart of this challenge lies one critical question: how do you manage trust across billions of identities?
PKI: The foundation of scalable trust
In a recent interview, Rajeev Thuthikat, Alliance Manager at Nexus, shares how Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) is central to solving this problem.
“The whole basis of Zero Trust is identity,” explains Rajeev. “With the proliferation of intelligent devices, often outnumbering human users, it is essential to have a robust system that can authenticate and authorize every entity within the network.”
PKI offers the scalability and cryptographic assurance required to enable strong, identity-first security across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. Our cloud-based Nexus GO offerings, deliver this as a service, allowing organizations to scale identity issuance for both users and devices with built-in support for multiple protocols.
But, identity issuance is just one part of the equation.
Leveraging Certificate Lifecycle Management
Rajeev points to certificate lifecycle management (CLM) as a critical element of enterprise security.
Without visibility and automation, expired or misconfigured certificates can open the door to serious breaches. Nexus addresses this with a CLM solution that simplifies the full lifecycle management—from issuance to renewal and revocation—helping organizations reduce human error, stay compliant, and maintain real-time awareness of their certificate environments.
Scaling trust through the Nexus partner ecosystem
However, delivering identity-first security isn’t something Nexus can do alone. Channel partners are central to achieving this vision. Our collaborative approach ensures that Nexus solutions are technically strong and expertly implemented in the field. Channel partners extend the reach of Nexus technology, playing a pivotal role in securing society by enabling trusted identities across governments, enterprises, and connected devices.
We recognize the niche expertise required for PKI solutions," Rajeev explains. "Through our Nexus Academy, we offer certified courses to train our partners. Additionally, we provide resources like test beds for hands-on experience and continuous support to ensure our partners are well-equipped to deliver our solutions effectively.
Looking ahead, Rajeev notes that artificial intelligence will play a growing role in complementing PKI. While PKI provides the trust backbone through identity and encryption, AI adds value through pattern analysis and real-time anomaly detection, enhancing threat response and resilience in complex digital ecosystems.
