Support Engineer with developer background

Job description

You will be responsible for handling customer’s issues. You will take care of the whole process: from the ticket that comes in, the reproduction of the issue, the analysis of the incident, drafting and communicating a solution. Nexus is an international company with world-class security products and an international customer base hence you will have opportunities to work with customers worldwide. You will become part of a team with competent colleagues located in Sweden and Germany.

Job duties

As a support engineer you will handle calls and tickets coming in from our customers. Your duties, among other things, is to understand the issue, to collect all needed information during the analysis, to reproduce the issue if possible, to deliver a hotfix in case of urgency or to forward the issue to a product development team. For the analysis, you have the possibility to check logfiles and potentially access the customer’s environment via remote secure access. You will cooperate with our own product owners, our developers as well as with the customer’s technical staff.


You have knowledge and practical experiences of at least these areas:

  • Experience from Windows and Linux
  • SQL database management
  • Programming experience (Java, C# or similar)
  • Network knowledge / experience
  • Swedish and English, well spoken and written

We further believe that you have good communication skills, you can describe technical topics in an easy to understand language. Some knowledge around PKI, certificates, smart cards and SSL is a big plus. Your knowledge can come either from a relevant IT education and training and/or your previous work experience. We think you have a few years’ work experience from previous jobs and see this position as an exciting next step.

You are driven to work towards solving issues. You can independently plan your work. When you encounter problems, you are not afraid to face them and try out different solutions or ask for help. You work well with other people such as customers and colleagues. As a support engineer, it is important to have a positive drive, to switch context easily and to prioritize your tasks.
