The death of passwords has been predicted for many years, but during 2017 we will finally see the perfect storm that will make static passwords obsolete. Identity and security company Nexus Group therefore launches a campaign to help organizations say goodbye to passwords.
“The need to say goodbye to static passwords has become urgent, while at the same time more secure login methods have become both easier to implement and to use. The cost of using passwords has also increased and the cost of better login methods has gone down, which means that your organization will actually save money by saying goodbye to passwords,” says Magnus Malmström, vice president for product development at Nexus.
The campaign includes materials that summarize why 2017 is the year to finally say goodbye to passwords, go through the 13 reasons why passwords are not secure and give you the 9 reasons why your users will love your organization for saying goodbye to passwords.
“We also explain what two-factor authentication (2FA) and 2FA without passwords is, and why your organization is at a big risk of non-compliance if you keep using static passwords when the EUs new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) goes into effect on May 25, 2018,” says Malmström.
In addition, Nexus will follow up with two guides on how to implement passwordless two-factor authentication (2FA) for your employees and how to implement better login methods than passwords for your external users.
“We know that many organizations struggle with how to replace passwords, and we want to show them how easy it can be. Many organizations are not up-to-date with how technology has advanced and are feeling stressed out by, for example, the GDPR,” says Malmström.
