In Nepal, the Office of the Controller of Certification (OCC) is the regulatory body responsible for overseeing the implementation of digital signatures and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). The Government of Nepal established the OCC to facilitate secure digital communication and transactions by accrediting Certifying Authorities (CAs) that issue digital certificates. These certificates are instrumental in verifying the identities of entities involved in electronic transactions, ensuring data integrity, non-repudiation, and confidentiality.
