Estonia first with approved e-IDs according to eIDAS

Estonia became the first country in the EU to publish an approved (“nominated”) e-identification valid for use throughout the European Union. Several countries are on their way, but Estonia became the first. Identity and security company Nexus Group were among the first vendors to support and deliver eID-login and signing with European eID:s according to eIDAS.

“With eIDAS-login we open-up for cross-country collaboration, by using digitalization for easy access to services across country borders. Within just a few years, we expect eIDAS-compliant login and signing services to be the standard solutions for accessing e-services throughout Europe. Many public organization do not follow this regulation yet, but we can help them and simplify for both public and private companies to do business in a new digital landscape, says Stefan Runneberger, Specialist in Public Sector at Nexus Group.

According to eIDAS regulations, all public organizations that have public e-services with eID login must now offer login with Estonia’s eID.

– If you/your business still does not offer login according to the eIDAS regulation, then you are welcome to contact us at Nexus. We have both knowledge and solutions that will help you getting started!

Here is an example of how the solution looks like within the Nexus Hybrid Access Gateway (HAG).
